Hannah Kate and Me

A day in the life of a mom.
Some days are full of fun, some are full of frustration.
But just like I say to the kids
"you get what you get and don't have a fit".

Classic Kate

So Kate was telling Greg the other day that she can speak french. Intrigued Greg said "so what can you say Kate?" And she said with a straight face, "Oo Lala la lu". Greg repeated it back to her and she said "yes" and it means, please pass the tacos. So the next time you find yourself in a french restaurant and you want someone to pass the tacos just say "Oo lala la lu" and see what happens. She is just the funniest little thing and has the biggest imagination that I've ever seen.

Oo lala la lu, it just makes me giggle every time I say it.

Notice anything new??

Yep. I changed the blog back ground. Blogger just released a new customizing option. Really cool and really easy to use. Although I just can't bring myself to replace the 2 year old picture, it just says so much about my life still. So maybe some day I'll change it but for now you get a 2 year old picture.

kid free

So G & G Lyons along with Aunt Nan came down to Richmond and took the girls for the weekend. It was wonderful. Although the weekend started off rough when the fire alarm went off at the hotel and woke up both the girls. Kate hates and I mean hates loud noises so this sent her into a frenzy and Greg had to go over to the hotel and calm her down. But once she calmed down all was well, at least I think it was since we didn't hear from them again. Greg and I took Saturday and just hung around the house. We went up to the farmers market in the morning and got some yummy stuff to eat and then came home and read for hours and hours and then eat cheese and crackers and watched Avitar. It was perfect. Greg picked the girls up on Sunday morning and they had a great time. Lots of swimming, eating and playing board games with G&G and Aunt Nan.

Kate turns 5

Oh my oh my she is 5. I still can't believe it. My baby is 5. And as I write this blog I just looked over at the clock and it marks exactly 5 years ago she was born. 852p on 5/25/05 my sweet little Kate entered the world.

Here are some fun pictures from our day of celebration. Kate had a great birthday and is sound asleep in bed dreaming of all the wonderful things we did and all the wonderful people we have in our lives.

Enjoy.

Kate's story of where she was before she was born

So Kate starting telling me this very elaborate story of where she was before she was born. I loved the story so much I had to share it. So here it goes, and I hope I get it all right.

In Kate's words: Hannah and I were waiting in heaven as little babies. We knew each other then and she started to go down first, I tried to pull her back up because I did not want her to go yet, but she went down into mommies tummy. I then waited for a little while but I did not like being without Hannah so I decided to go down into mommies tummy also. And then I was born and was with my sister again. And there are lots of other babies in heaven waiting to go into their mommies tummies but they haven't come down yet, but they will soon.

I just thought this was really cute. Kate talks allot about where she was before she was born. She is very spiritual that way and I like that her and Hannah knew each other before they were born, so sweet.

Miss me?

Hello to my few followers. Are you still there? Have I lost you since I haven't written anything for so long? Its been a crazy 2010 so far. Lots of stress, lots of school stuff and lots of hard parenting (oh Kate what will I ever do with you??). But life has gone on and I've taken pictures and we've enjoyed all the holidays that have come and gone. And now that the weather is warmer and the sun is shining I'm feeling like I can get my head out of the sand again. So lets start the blog back up and give you some cute pictures and videos of the girls on Easter and a few pics from St. Patrick's day. Enjoy.

Hula hooping and reading

The girls are both working hard on mastering new skills. Kate is working on her skills at hula hooping and is doing very very well. She can keep the hula hoop up for about 30 sec and that is 30 sec longer than I can. I'll try and get a video of her doing it, I love the look on her face its priceless.

And Hannah is working sooo hard on mastering her reading skills. For the first time today she sat down and read from a book, so not just sight words but a full book. It was a very proud moment for a mom and I think for her also. Kindergarten has taught her so much and I'm so proud of her hard work.
